Hi,
Since the 2004 Camry V6 used the same transmission as the 2001 RX300, is it safe to use the valve body from the Camry and put it in the RX300?
Thanks

Ooooooooh.
Brave, but I like it.
There's only one way to truly find out. The worst that can happen is you have a transmission full of neutrals....

Most likely the part numbers would be different, even if they cross reference to identical part.
How about purchasing the Toyo part and walking over to Lexus dealer and compare. If the are the same, you are good to go if not, return the Toyo part.
Note: Some parts (specially the electronics parts) are non-returnable and some places may require a stocking fee. So check before purchasing.

x2. And, why mess around with something that could lead to transmission failure. The valve body plays a large part in the transmission (obviously...LOL), and messing around with parts that aren't designed for it isn't something I suggest you do. It can be a very expensive mistake...

The U140E (2WD) is the same for the 2004 V6 Camry (not the 4cyl one) and the 2WD RX300, 4WD RX300 has the U140F tranny, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_U_transmission

What's a better option? rebuild the valve body? Does anyone know of a good rebuild kit? or valve body from Camry or Brand new one? Thanks
