Can I repair my Air Servo ?

I had 2 problems with my RX300, clicking noise during summer when AC was on and then last week no heat coming through, only cold air blowing. So, I decided to remove the glove box and take a look around where air servo is located.
Noticed that no heat was due to trap door shut as one of the arm was not opening it, so manually pushed it up and the heating is working now.
To fix the clicking noise, I took out the Air Servo and opened it (carefully), all looked fine inside the black box, did a little cleaning with q-tip and spread the grease evenly and connected it back and now it does not work, no arms moving. Can't change air controls !
What went wrong ? I opened it again and to me it looks OK inside .. did I do something that broke it .. is there a way of repairing/fixing it. I understand new part is around $150.
Any clues what went wrong and how to fix ??
Thanks.

There have been a few cases where people have taken them apart (as you did) and cleaned the contact strips and re-lubed them and got them to work again, but my experience is that the tiny brushes are worn out and the servo needs to be reoplaced , or the motor, IF you can find one that works. I have even taken the motor apart to see if I could revive it by cleaning the inside and re- tensioning the brushes, but to no avail. The motor is something that belongs in a tiny toy. It is doomed to failure and is a surprize it works as long as it does. Remember that those are ELECTRICAL contact strips and though they are greased so that they do not prematurely wear out, it is a grease that WON'T inhibit current flow. I believe you'll be lucky to buy the part for $150.

So I am gathering repair is not an option. I should have taken a picture of the inside when I had it open. The motor you are refering looks like it is dead and you are correct it does look like it gets used in a little mechanical toys, I have seen it before.
I called our Lexus shop and they are selling new one for around $250.
I will look for used one as this common part for most of the 300 Lexus models, like IS300, ES300, GS300, etc and Denso made them.
