Default Starting problems

Hi all,

My 2001 RX300 won't start unless I step on the gas pedal and once it does start and I get off the gas it dies. Is this a starter issue?

hey, i just replaced my starter, before i did when i turned key would just click 3 turns later would start.

so from experience ill tell you no your starter isn't cause. you say you give it gas and will go, so engines turning over im assuming every time you try to start? tells me starter is doing its job.

any codes? is your check eng light on??

check that your air intake isnt getting blocked.

i think if your fuel filter or pump or injectors were clogged or not doing there job you would def have a check eng light on.

when you do get it on with gas pedal does eng seem to fire norm?

also when you turn key with no gas what happens after like 3 tries??

hope my 2 cent help you out somehow just trying to help you rule out somethings to pin point problem. i thought with newer cars giving it gas while trying to start has no effect but thats just based on my small knowledge of cars let us know some more details and im sure we can get this resolved
