For breaking stuff, I always use a 6pt socket, failing that a box wrench and then a 12pt socket and last of all an open end and only in pinch an adjustable. Never used pliers ever (I hope that it I never have to). I do have some cheap tools and use them once the bolt/nut has broken loose.

I only saw two things that would fit in the area, a wrench(with box end and open end) or a pilers, but I didn't have a nose pilers.
My flare wrench also doesn't go up to 19mm.
I would have felt more assured if I had a 6 pt box wrench, but I only had a 12pt. Maybe I'll do some christmas tool shopping.

I couldn't get a 6pt socket to fit because of the neck. Also there is just not enough room back there.

Pipe wrench works great if you are removing an item that won't be reused, eg an A/F sensor..
