I undo latches and nothing! seems like everything is attached and I do not want to start pulling things apart. I thought this was supposed to be easy!!! Also, where is cabin air filter located?

Welcome to Club Lexus!

As soon as you unlatch the air box, the filter is right there. Are you saying the filter is missing?

The cabin filter is inside the glovebox. Pull of the little portion towards the inners side of the glovebox, and then pull off the cover on the box behind it. After that you can pull the cabin filter straight out towards you and when you replace it be sure the air flow direction is going the correct way.

If the engine air intake filter has been there for a while you may have to grab it and tug it away from the pipe that leads to the engine. The rubber gasket could be stuck. The force you need to apply id away and up.

If you mess with the box too much, you might unhook the vacuum line in the back.

thank you for responding. I was able ( with some force ) to pry up the top of the box and expose filter enough to get it out and replace. Snapped back into position and thanks for the tip...check the hose on back of box!!!! I'll try cabin filter next.

Also easy. You may need pliers to pull the tab on the inner cover, unless you have strong fingers. Probably no need to even empty the glovebox.
