Default Memory function on our RX suck a$$

when i just got in my RX after 3 months out of town, i press my #1 and everything came back to my position, except for the mirrors??!!! I never noticed this, because rarely does anyone else in the family drive my car. But this can be very annoying if im sharing this car with a girl or something. BIG BIG HASSAL for me anyways. I wonder why they didnt include this function like the other lexus models have. I rather they save the money on that blue screen and have a memory mirror too.

When I bought my RX, the salesman spent a couple
minutes trying to show me the memory seats and mirrors.

He looked puzzled when the mirrors wouldn't work for him.

I Agree. We use our Rx on weekends and take turns driving. Since we use the memory settings extensively (#1,#2), we have to adjust the side mirrors manually.

Sigh.. Hope they fix this on the 330 ..

well, i really wish the 330 isnt too good, because i just had mine 02' for 9 months and hope they dont make my "old" one look bad. I wish they can come out in 04' or 05'=)
Otherwise i would have to up-grade to the new one.

Default Mirrors

Your RX was designed for, and marketed too, the ladies, thus the large elephant ear mirrors which they greatly prefer.

Default Re: Mirrors

u still never seize to amaze me. Actually all the females whos ever in my car thought those over-sized mirrors were the funniest thing they ever seen. Some even LOL, i dont know if that means they "prefer" them though.

I am not amazed. The pointlessness of such posts is not amazing. The motivation is not amazing. It's just more of the same old off-topic hot air from an irate individual with a grudge. This from an individual who purchased not one...but two of these vehicles that were "designed for, and marketed too, the ladies".

wwest, the topic is memory function. Stay on topic.

Default wrong...

The topic is the lack of memory function on the outside rear view mirrors. And if anyone is off topic it's daddy-o, as usual, he can't resist getting his digs in even if off-topic.

And if you bother to ask, or check, you will find that women are generally more vocal about their likes and dislikes. Most of them will readily voice the opinion that the small aerodynamic mirrors the industry has gone to, even with positional memory, are lacking in "view" capability.

Personally I always buy a "rest of the world" drivers side convex rear view mirror to help solve the aerodynamic mirror problem.

ya... only if our mirrors were part of the memory...

wonder if the new rx3 would have it and will it be big elephant ears also HAHA

i wonder tho, if the new side mirrors coming out is smaller and sleeker, would we be able to change ours to use those???

i was thinking before of chaning to something more smaller.
