Default Oil puddle in throttle body and hoses big or small problem?

I think I found out why my IACV valve continues to stick. There is a quarter size
puddle of oil in the lift side of the throttle body and hose. A small amount in the right side
hose was also found. I checked the PVC and it seemed to be functioning when I blew on
to test. Am I looking at a new engine, rings, valves anyone else had this problem.

Same problem was discussed within last 2 months.

Please dig a bit and the culprit was PCV . By the way its replacement seems trivial, but the brittle rubber/casing has caused lot of grief. So tread that water carefully.

I had some oil caked on in the inside of the tube going from the air box to the throttle body. In my case, the PCV was plugged.

and have got it in but having a problem getting it to set in flush. Trying to find something to
tap it in with but have not found the right combination of tools.

Default Idling Problem in Park and Nuetral?

With the help of this forum I have been able to get rid of my P0300 P0303 P0305 codes by replacing the fuel pump and filter and cleaning the Idle control valve (IACV). I had oil in my
throttle body and have attempted to replace my PCV valve. I am still not certain it is seated
properly in place but no codes are showing up and the engine seems to run fine. My only
problem is it will not idle consistantly and I feel it down shift a little ruff at times when slowing down. Some times I start it and it will idle at the 3000 rpm the next time I start it will idle at 2000 rpm and olther times it will sit there in park and fluctuate between 2500 and 1500 rpm. When in drive it acts normal with only a slight ruff downshift when gearing down to a stop. No engine light and overdive is working. Anyone had a IACV just unrepairable by cleaning alone? Anyone had a problem PCV valve not seating properly?

Thanks

not seating properly is strictly a physical issue and unique to your situation. Take a step back and observe or worst still hypothesize what is preventing it from seating. Some times a bit of lube can help. The choice for lube are ... engine-oil, transmission fluid, brake-fluid and soap. You pick the lube based on the environment the rubber-like object is exposed to. [soap for suspension bushings]

IACV can go bad and the only solution is to replace them. The only way to make sure that it is bad is with instruments to make real time measurements which can tell you that the problem is in the IACV or some thing around it (for example vacuum leak). Most DIYers and mechanics go into the mode of incremental swapping or things till the problem is solved.

Salim

PS: You can have a bad vacuum (loose hose) or even leak around the PCV.

Default IACV removal?

I would have removed the IACV and tried to clean it more or just replace all together but of course I started to strip the bolts holding the throttle body. You got any tips on removing these things. They seem to be in there to stay.
