Yes the VSC coupled with CEL can be due to the same reason.
My philosophy about CEL is, please have ti checked and fixed. The problem will trickle bleed your wallet and having it fixed will save you on fuel. When the engine computer sees the bad condition, it does its best to bring things in control and at the end may respond with changes that can be bad in the long run.
Example is when the computer trying to compensate, sends signal to the fuel system to pump more gas. You will be paying more at the gas station as your engine is wasting gas. Other than that the unburnt gas then starts overusing your catalytic convertor .. drastically reducing its life. Not soon, but in a year you may have to replace yet another pricy part.
I am not using scare tactics, but just giving you a possible outcome. Previous owner may not be driving enough and (s)he could be risk insulated.
Please read the sticky threads, as they have lots of information. I would highly recommend to read "Having problems .. start here mega thread".

I checked the code for my CEL and it showed P1155 and it showed "Heater Circuit" Bank 2 Sensor 1. I am single mom, trying to solve this DIY. In another post, it said that P1155 is Bank 2 Sensor 1, but it shows Bank 1 Sensor 1 incorrectly? I am so confused.

Bank 2 is on the front side ... the sensor will be on the radiator side.
Please make sure you do not purchase cheap knock offs and do not purchase from unknown seller. I personally pay extra and buy from Lexus online store or local dealer. I always had the right fit and the sensor worked the first time.
That said, the error code says there is a malfunction and although it is the sensor at about 100K + miles, but the problem can be somewhere else.
Another thing about removing things from the exhaust can turn into a nightmare. I have used offset box wrench and the sensor came out without fuss, but some members have reported problems. Just be aware!
When you install the new sensor, make sure the supplied grease is used on the threads only.
