RX300 2001 rust spot on roof and on side of windshield
Car is 10yrs old I have 2 rust spots one is on top of the roof where the windshield meet the roof and other on the right side of the windshield. These area half dollars size turn yellow and bubble a bit, at first I thought it was bird poop keep cleaning it but it would not come out! I took a really close look it turn out to be rusted under paint showing the yellowish coloration.
I want to know this is something I can DIY or I have to take it to the body shop? If anyone DIY please show me the procedure how to do it? Thank you in advance!

I guess it depends on how good you want it to look, how handy/artistic you are, and whether or not you have a 3-stage paint color (base coat, top coat, and clearcoat). My experience is that 3-stage paint colors are much more difficult to match (as an amateur).
I have many years of experience in rust control on previous cars. They didn't look perfect, but looked pretty good from a distance. But, if you can't match the paint, it won't even look good from a distance.

I had a similar problem on a Ford Explorer. The rust spot next to the windshild was an ongoing battle because it had rusted below the windshield rubber, Unless you can get ALL of the rust ground down it will keep returning, By the time I got rid of the vehicle the repair spot had grown to 3 inches long and 2 inches high. If you really love the vehicle I would suggest a professional who would remove the windshield (assuming the rust pattern was like mine) and really do a good surface prep /rust removal.
I know this can be costly so if this isnt an option you can DIY and try to keep on top of the battle.
