NyCrazy,

You only replaced the strut mounts? You still have the OEM struts?

By the way, try reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery. I think it will help improve your MPG. (doesnt hurt to try).

Yeah I just did the strut mounts/sway bar kit. My mechanic said the struts were perfect condition, not leaking or anything.

My rear struts were in good condition as well when I replaced them at 160,000 miles. I was surprised to say the least, but I replaced them anyways since I already had everything apart.

After your mechanic changed it. Did it get rid of the rattling noise in the front end? I think I need to do mine...

Yessir. When they changed the sway bar and strut mounts, the car feels like brand new again. Surprised how my struts are still good after 177k miles.

Things I've gotten done

- 4 new tires
- allignment
- new brakes/pads both in the front
- power steering flush
- brake fluid flush
- transmission/front diff fluid
- rear diff
- gear box fluid
- semi synthetic oil
- cleaned MAF

Still getting 14.5 mpg! With gas prices going up, i need to find out what i can do to conserve and save as much as possible.

I'm getting my sway bar link/strut mounts both in the front replaced tomorrow because of a rattling noise but I don't think that'll make a difference.

I don't have a check engine light or anything.

Full tank (until the light goes on) gets me 180-210 miles.

What can I do?

Grade 93 gas here in VA ... I pay $4.19!!
Keep an eye on new tires, you may need to re-alignment again after struts mounts replaced
