The first rx's off the line had valve covers that had smaller baffles for even oil flow. Lexus fix is to put a modified valve cover and gaskets on. Rear one being a jreal B**ch. He suggested to do 2 oil changes with 1/2 Valvoline HM and Pennzoil HM to gently clean any sludge if i was concerned about it. I guess that Pennzoil HM cleans very good but could be overly aggressive letting chunks break loose. Will try it and see. Might be 3 to 4 months tho. Thanks for all the help. If anybody has further suggestions i would like to hear them.
As has been stated, your best bet is Auto-RX. It disolves the deposits so you don't have "chunks" floating through the system, and more important, when you "break" stuff loose, rather than disolving it, you stand the risk of ending up clogging the oil pick-up screen, then you will probably need an engine.

I had the same problem with mine and as a last resort had the rear valve cover replaced with the newer version on my 2000 and it cured my oil consumtion problem. I posted a thread on this.

Very well-said.

If you see a "modern", i.e., post-1985, car with oil smoke coming from the tailpipe, they're burning WAY more than a quart every 500 miles.

BTW, I saw a late-90's Panther-chassis Ford, a Crown Vic, smoking, yesterday. Sitting at a light, a stream of blue smoke eminating from the tail pipe. When the light turned green, it's like they were running a mosquito fogger.

Those folks will be walkin', soon, if they don't add oil every time they get gasoline.
