Smile 30k service price $479.00

I've seen posts on this board where people have paid upwards of $900.00 for the 30K. Why so much folks? I got quoted $479.00 at my Lexus dealer, which in my book is fairly resonable.

$479.00 that's what my service advisor said. He knows me too, no optional extras here. It' s a sales thing, they're on commission so, I'm sure he's going to ask if I want something additional done. Unless it's an offer or deal I can't refuse, I will politely decline.

Giant's - I think Hernandez literally threw it away. I couldn't even watch it after the 7th. You kinda just knew it was over

white01,
I think you're probably referring to a post I made a while back, as I'm the only one I remember to have posted this amount... The caveat was that I had to have my rear brakes replaced at the same time, so that drove the price up considerably as you can imagine. $479 sounds about right for what I paid for the 30k service though - dead on in fact.

Yes, it must have been the brakes. I also decided to have the front side windows tinted to match the back, which will run $99.95, I didn't consider the price to high so I went for it.

What a coincidence. I just had a 15K service yesterday and it was $480 ($5 gas for loaner car). The service advisor said 15K/30K are the same price. I initially went in for an oil change and he said I'm 150 short of the service, so I said "go for it". I was like gosh, since I'm paying for the service, I'm going to have them change my DRL's because it has a brown film on the bottom side. Also, I told them my navigation wasn't working too well hoping they would swap DVD software to the 2002.1 version.

In the end, I paid $480 for 15K service, DRL's-warranty, Navigation-couldn't produce the problem (next time I hope), and they garaged my car overnight because I baby my RX.

Hope this helps in the $480 price if it's reasonable.

Harrier,
They replaced your DRLs for no charge because of the brown film? Geez, I should have em do that. I wonder if they'd replace 'em with SILVERSTARZ?

Wow...Please look in your owner's manual supplement.

The 15k service is barely more than the 5K service.
The 15k service is hardly as intensive as the 30k service.

5k:
Replace Oil & Filter
Rotate Tires
Road Test

Inspect:
Ball Joints & Dust Covers
Brake Linings & Drums
Brakes Pads & Discs
Drive Shaft Boots
Engine Air Filter
Steering Linkage & Boots
Nuts & Bolts on Chassis and Body

This goes for around $110.

.................

15K Service includes all service above and adds these items:

Retorque Drive Shaft Flange Bolts (AWD Only)

Inspect:
Body
Brake Lines And Hoses
Differential Oil
Exhaust Pipe & Mountings
Rack and Pinion Assembly
Transfer Case Oil

Tightening Bolts (AWD only) and 6 visual inspections
apparently costs $370 and raises the price to $480?
...........

30K Service includes all service above and adds these items:
Replace Brake Fluid
Replace Engine Air Filter
Replace Engine Coolant

Inspect:
Fuel Lines and Connections, fuel Tank Band and Fuel Vapor Vent Hoses
Fuel Tank Cap Gasket
Transmission and Differential Oil

Oh wells, just have to tighten my belt. I guess it's a piece of mind for me. $480 for piece of mind.

I need to put some miles on the car to have it brought back in for the future Navigation update....

I was just at my dealer and asked what the 30k would cost me. He pulled a 3 ring binder out and flipped to 30 k and showed me the standard cost. I don't remember the exact figure but it was $500 hundred something and over $600 if you had a certain filter replaced. I would say if your dealer will do the standard 30k service for $479 take it.

That's a done deal my friend - with a fully loaded IS SportCross (including Navi) as a loaner. Total with Mirror Match tints came to $614.00 out the door. Got new drive belts too - under warranty
