Default Do You Use Your Alarm Clock?

How many of you actually use the alarm clock feature on the RX? Does the navi version even have this? Its a real cool feature, but I never need it!

Haven't figured a use for it. I stopped sleeping in cars years ago.

Never use it. I use the one in my cellular phone (Nokia) when I'm on the road though.

Will somebody please post why they use it?

As I posted earlier, I haven't figured a use for it. I wear a watch with an alarm function. The only time I've used that was to wake up when sleeping in a hotel that didn't provide an alarm clock.

Hey everyone,

Well, when I first got my car 3 years ago, I just graduated college and I used it to get to my first new job. Well, after 4 years of going to bed at 3 am and taking naps all day (to make up for the loss) I didnt adjust well to 9-5.

I would take a 30 min nap every day during lunch in my car and I used the alarm to wake me up.

I am glad to say that I am now well adjusted to 9-5 but i cant stay up past 10pm.

The other use I have for it is when I go on long trips. I say probably 1ce every 3 months or so. My GF's family lives in MI and we live in MA. She doesnt like flying too much so we drive. I hate wasting my day away driving so we like to drive through the night. That gets really tiring and sometimes switching drivers just isnt enough. So, we take naps here and there at rest stops and I set the alarm to wake us up.

Oh I forgot, I wear an analog watch. No alarm.

dat b why i use my alarm.

I sleep in my car all the time when I hunt, but I don't think the alarm will go off if the car isn't on, will it? I've never trusted it to wake me up, so I just use my cell phone... Anybody know the answer to that question?

How does it sound? Is it tone, buzz, etc..? I tried using it once -the alarm time came and went, and I didn't detect a thing.

Who has the "RX Alarm calibration for Dummy's" book?

<Yawn>I'm a little sleepy after lunch.
I guess I'd better grab my pillow and
head out to the ol' RX 300.</Yawn>

Sleeping in the RX huh? I haven't done that yet. I guess it could come in handy if your passenger is sleeping. For those of you sleeping in the RX, do you leave the RX on ACC mode

white01, it sounds kind of like a digital watch beep. There are three quick consecutive beeps then a pause, etc. IMO, it could be louder.

For those without navi, to set the alarm clock push the "clock" button a few times and you will enter the mode where you can set the alarm clock. Be sure to get the am/pm correct and the little bell on the LCD screen lights up to tell you the alarm is set.

I tried out the alarm this afternoon. While waiting for my kid, I set it and waited. If I had to rely on that quiet thing to wake me up, I'd be in trouble.

I used to have a '99 silver RX300 and I used mine all the time. That alarm clock was the best. Helpful when you are working 12-13 hours a day, 6 days a week. Get into car, lock doors, turn on engine, set climate control at 72 degrees, set alarm clock for half an hour later, climb into back, lay down, and snooze. The factory tint helped with a little extra privacy as well.....I miss that car.

I haven't used it but I can see its value for reminding one when to makes stops, etc.

It's like bears in the woods, you don't really see them, but it is very nice knowing they are there!

Please don't start a petition to drop it to save them 50 cents unless you can convince them to put a decent twin bulb map light in the front cabin like other cars I have been in, most except the RX.

I used it two days ago. After spending the better part of the day taking my second snowboarding lesson, I needed a nap (in addition to lots of advil) and wanted to wake up to take more punishment 30 minutes later.

While I very rarely use it, it came in handy when I needed it.
