I don't know how much back flushing it can do because there are one way valves in the trans. but there IS a reason why some manufacturers have come out AGAINST flushing. In my mind, the pump through is a "natural" path to eliminate all the old fluid. No, T-tech is nothing like a drain and fill.
That is simply not correct. I have checked with local shops that use the system and read the description of the process on the T-tech site. It does not back flush anything. It just uses the transmission's own pump to circulate the fluid in the normal direction.

My sincere apologies. I wasn't personally familiar with T-tech so I did a search on it and found a number of explanations on forums that described it exactly as I had described it, including connecting both hoses and back flushing through the filter to eliminate the need for dropping pan or filter replacement. It would appear that was very bad information. I commend them for doing the exchange without back flushing. I doubt that I would want to spend $4500.- $6000. for the convenience of letting a machine partner with my car to do the same exact thing I do for $0.00
