CDs that I record off the internet are not recogniged by my 2002 RX 300. Used a new Sony burner and the audio set up.
Any comments, suggestions would be appreciated.

You can check the following:
1. That your CD burner is burning your CDs in WAV (or Audio CD) format and NOT native mp3. Because the current Lexus CD player doesn't read mp3 formatted CDs
2. Check to see that there are no errors during your CD burning process. Typically the software that you use for burning should be able to tell you that. Also try playing those CDs on various other CD readers (PCs, boomboxes, portable CD players) to verify that they play them correctly.
3. Lastly try to play a CD that has been burned by another CD burner. If that works, then your Sony CD-R recorder may need some tweaking.
Lot's of folks on this board have been succesfully using CD-Rs and even CD-RWs to listen to music on their Lexus CD players. So theoritically you shouldn't have any problems.
Good Luck!

chatrathi, what program are you using?
You also need to be sure you are burning as an audio CD and not a data CD of .mp3's. The RX's CD changer only recognizes audio CD-R's, not CD-RW's.
I don't have a problem with .mp3's though. I burn .mp3's using MusicMatch most of the time. I have successfully used Roxio Easy CD Creator also.

Another problem could be the media,,, some players are sensitive to different brands and the color of the dye used.
I have a Plextor 24x burner and find the blue/green(CD-R 48x, 70mb, 80 minute, Memorex & TDK) dyed CD-R's burn the best and have the best chance of being accepted by a vast majority of audio cd players.
Also make sure you don't over burn. There has been discussions about trashing cd players with cd's that exceed the 80 minute limit. The read head arm tries to read past the viable end of the CD and physically runs into trouble,, bad trouble..

LexRX:
I use NTI CD-Maker that came with my CD-writer. The packaged software is the regular version. I upgraded to NTI CD-Maker professional which gives you more control over the process.
Lemme know if you have any questions.
