2 bad keys
Hey guys, I have a problem with my keys. I have two old keys that will lock, unlock and panic when i press the buttons but will not start the car. The security light will flash even though the key is in the ignition and when I turn the key the car will turn but not start. Can anyone give me any suggestions to what the problem is or point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!

You say "two old keys". Can you elaborate more on that? How long have you owned the car? How long has it been since you used those keys, if ever? Has the PCM (power control module) been changed in that length of time? Do you have a key, or keys that will actually start the car?

The car was passed down to me about 4 years ago and I found my mom just gave me the keys she found so i'm guessing its been a while since they have been used. I have a key that i got new from a dealership about a year ago because i broke the original one. I have one key that starts the car and am hoping that these keys will be an easy fix

There is a procedure to sync the keys, but you must start with identifying the "MASTER-key" [the one that works ... start, remote etc]
Additional info: Every key that starts is not a master key. Like valet key is not the master key. Master key in addition to the ability to start is registered in the ECU as "master" and it allows the ECU to accept programming any new key.
Our resident expert is hyperwish (and ever so helpful). He may have the process documented and posted under DIY.

You need to program the second portion of the key.
Follow the instructions for Method 1- Immobilizer Programming in the DIY below. If that method doesn't work, try method 2. It may not work on the first try, you may need to keep trying.
