I suggest you look for a source in Japan.

I wasn't saying not to replace them just saying if they're not bad save your money. When I rebuilt mine I was told numerous times that they were the problem but after I tore it apart they looked brand new

It would have been helpful if you shared the reason why you're replacing the transmission and described your symptoms so others could watch out for them. Thanks.

No disagreement here... I am on my original gears/transmission. You made a choice and I am happy it is working for you [it could be you have the redesigned gears to begin with].

What I try to do is, bring up the issue and let the owner decide which way they should go.

The reason i'm replacing the transmission was i was getting alot of problems with it..it all started one morning when i put it in reverse to back out of the driveway, it didn't move at all..so after i turned the engine off and turned it back on and put it into drive and then reverse it was fine.

then the next thing was after i started driving it go's from 2 to 3 fine but over revs when it go's into 4th and shakes alot.. but didn't have any issue when you have been driving for a while.

and then after all that about a month ago, it just halted on the middle of the road, when i stepped on the gas it didn't move at all.. i couldn't even push if off the main road. because it was stuck in gear. the tow truck dragged it off the road non of the wheels rotated.

well i finally found a transmission with only 78000km on it, also replaced the torque converter and the differential. but i seem to have the same problem rising with this transmission still over revs to goto 4th from 3rd.. could there be something wrong with the computer? can this be reset ? any help would do. all i'm left with is to get rid of it.

How much time driving were you doing with the new tranny. Even after I did some tranny work about 6 year ago, it was basically put it in and go as far as the electronic end of it was, but it still took about 100 miles or so before it was feeling normal and the vehicle computer adjusted to my driving pattern fully.
