You're welcome!

I can't say with as much certainty that the 2nd gen RX does not have a security code, but based off a quick CL search it appears that it too does not have a radio security code.

I couldn't tell if the 2nd Gen's had a code either, but two eyes on it are better than one. Thanks again.

I was mislead into thinking that the silk screen on the radio unit indicates "theft deterrent" implied a security code. Later I found out the theft deterrent was the security system of the vehicle. Once armed the siren would sound if the door release is used to exit out of the vehicle. [scenario is some one breaks the glass and reaches in to open the door for access].

Above is for the late 90's and early 2000's Lexus. While the European cars had actual code.

Default No CD Player

Hi, Salim - GREAT thread!

I would love to install this GROM system, but my RX is a VERY base model (no leather seats or moon roof!) and because of that, it doesn't have a CD player. Will I still be able to install this?

Thanks

What audio system do you have?

Instead of hijacking this thread, I suggest we take this conversation to Aux-in. I vaguely recall a post where a person found a place to tap in the radio unit. Once you figure out where and how, then we can discuss with hyper how to add Grom unit.

All buttoned up and pretty happy with the unit so far. Love that I can connect my phone with BT and an have an extra aux port WITH a USB charging line as well, One thing I'm not too keen on is the Electronic "Kerplunk" every time you advance to the next song when streaming music via Bluetooth. hypervish does yours do the same? Curious.

I confirmed that the "kerplunk" I am hearing is my cheap Android phone. Doesn't do it with the iPhone...

Don't you just love it when someone answers their own question????

I'm sorry, I completely missed that post.

But, yeah it's likely the device you are using. I don't have a "kerplunk" with any of my iPhones or on a Nexus 4.
