Surging Idle - Need some help

Actually before I even modified my PCV system, I've always had some oil sludge in the left of the two hoses leading into the throttle body, but now I don't have an issue with it. I'm also convinced that the brand/weight of oil can affect this, too.

An update, albeit not a positive one.
So, after researching and troubleshooting I found that when I removed the connector on the rear OCV the idle smoothed out and stayed at 1000 rpm in all conditions I drove it in. There was no noticeable loss of power.

I changed the OCV today and .... same problem. Surging every 5 secs.

Any thoughts? Cam gear maybe?
