Default Get Rid of Smell

One of my buds smoked a cig, how do I get rid of the smell? I have an Rx300 & tried everything (sprays, air freshners, driving with windows down) & its still there.

Change the cabin air filter.

Yeah, it's really easy and the filter is cheap as well. It may be nasty, if it hasn't ever been changed before. It's a good idea to change it every 2 years.

as hypervish said, change the cabin air filter. Not sure on the RX300, but on the 07 RX the filter is located behind the glovebox. Need to remove the glovebox, and then unscrew a flat panel, behind which you'll find the filter which just slides out.

ONce you get that out, you might also want to spray a disinfectant/deodoriser through your AC system. Most car shops would sell those. There are the 'bomb' type which you just leave in your passenger compartment and run the AC for a few minutes. Or there are the type which you spray into the air intake and they make their way through the AC system and clean it out.

In your case the bomb system might work better as it might also attack the smells that are in the ceiling lining and carpet

cheers

i think an overnite treatment of a gas is what is used professionally [could it be ozone?]. anyway, a car body shop or good detailing shop may be a place to start. basically the same process is used in a fire damaged apartment to get rid of the smoky smell. it works great. don't ask me how i know.
