Rattle from steering column or lower dash
My 2001 RX300 (130K miles) makes an rattle which sounds like metal on plastic, sort of a clack sound, and only happens over sharp bumps. It can happen at any speed over about 10 mph. I hear it more than I feel it. And it’s hard to tell whether it’s coming from inside or outside the cabin. Seems to be coming from the direction of the lower dash or steering column. Anyone ever seen this?
P.S. All four corners got KYB struts/OEM mounts and new end links about a year ago.

I used to put spare change in the little compartment by the drivers left knee that covers the fuse box until I figured out that the change would jump out and collect on the lower dash panel and rattle when I hit bumps.

Thanks. My rattle sounds like something heavier than coins. And it only happens on sharp, high frequency impacts. Smooth bumps don't cause it. Turning doesn't cause it. It sounds like something needs tightening in front of the drivers knees.
