2000 RX300 P0171, P1130, P1135, P1150 and P1155
HI all, I am a new member and need some help. Thanks a millions in advance.
My 2000 lexus RX300 initially had ODBII code P0171, P0128 and P0330 and my wife did not know and had drove the car for couple weeks on freeway (25 miles per day) 4000rpm at 60 mph....
I found out and 2 days ago I replace both knock sensors and wires, by pass hose, pcv valve, 6 spark plugs, lower and upper intake manifold gaskets, spray IACV with throttle body cleaner, spray MAF sensor with MAF cleaner, reset the code....all parts are bought from lexus dealer
spray the engine with engine cleaner, water engine down.
the car run very smoothly, I drove on the freeway for 35 miles with no problem.
the next morning I drove the car for 20 minutes and when I park in the drive way, I saw steam come out of the hood, I open the hood and see a lot of team, I look under the car and saw coolant drop....
I refill the coolant and took it to the small independent garage and asked them to change engine oil, 2 front tires and and check the coolant leak, after checking they told me there is one hose I forget to put the clamp back and they did that for me and check there is no more leak.
I took the car and drove a way for less than a mile, the check engine come up, the car does not accelerate smoothly like loss some power.
I drove home plug in the ODBII meter and it gave me code P0171, P1130, P1135, P1150 and P1155.
can someone please give me some help, I really appreciated I am not a mechanic I just read this forum and follow instruction to perform the above task.
as a seperate issue, the low beam head light does not work, every other light work, I check the light bub bu plug in the hig beam and it turn on, check all the fuse are good, the only thng I did not check are the relay...look square.
do I need the OEM oil filter?
Thanks
Tien

#1 is DO NOT wash modern engines with water! Too many electronics that get wet and then when the car is driven it creates steam and causes shorting. Sometimes it's very difficult to sort out because you don't know what has been damaged in the electronics and what is just shorting from the water and steam and will work OK when it's finlly all dried out. #2 is cancel the trouble codes out and drive it and see what comes up 1st. You can't chase your tail with a whole bunch of codes. As you may know P0171 is Bank 1 too lean. (that is the rear bank) All the other codes have to do with the front and rear A/F ratio sensors. It is highly unlikely that you need new sensors and if the plugs or other related parts have gotten wet it is probably the cause of all the problems and the codes. If you have access to compressed air it would be good to pull the plugs apart and blow them out with the air and try to get all the water dried out. Untill you get rid of all the moisture you'll probably continue to have problems but you can't chase those trouble codes with that moisture still present. You can't use a shotgun approach or you'll go crazy, must be a systematic, logical approach. #1 comes before #2 and so on.
