Default VSC light and Check Engine

Alright, so I have 2001 rx300 and I got my 2 10in subs installed (professionally) and everything was fine when I drove home and started it up the next day and the VSC light is on and so is the check engine light, I went to the auto parts store to do diagnostic and says nothing is wrong. Do you know what's happening?

Did they do anything under the hood? Did they have to connect wiring to the battery? Could they have possibly removed the air cleaner housing to run cable to the battery? If so, they may have not connected the hose on the BACK of the air cleaner housing and that will cause those lights to come on. It is a common problem after a lube place has done work that requires removal of that box. That is a common combination that comes on for many different reasons.

I just had the full 90K mile service performed on my 02' RX300 yesterday which also included 4 new tires. I picked it up and drove it the hour back to my house with no issues. I left for work this morning and about a 1/2 mile from my house the check engine/VSC/traction control light are on. I called service, they said bring it in which I will be doing in the next 2 hours. The vehicle is driving normal at this time. I will let you know what they diagnose my problem as.

My code came back as the "cam sensor" which may have come loose during the timing belt install. I took the RX over yesterday and they said the engine had to be completely cool before they could inspect the sensor. Will get a better idea today if that is the true issue for the CEL.

Bet a dollar if you had money in hand to spend they wouldn't have to wait till the engine was completely cool!

I don't know, they are aware I have a small child and their dealership is a 60 mile roundtrip for me. they put me in a rental on their dime, but it is definitely a hassle. They went back over the timing belt install and didn't find anything amiss, and it has yet to pull the code again, so fingers cross it was fixed. going to pick it up AGAIN today.

I don't know if anyone has ever explained why the VSC light comes on everytime the CEL comes on!
What does the VSC have to do with the CEL coming on when the code(s) always pertain to a sensor unrelated to the VSC ?

That anytime the CEL appears on the dash, does the VSC become disabeled due to the CEL Issue ?

I am not understanding something !

Default VSC and check engine light

You can try to remove the abs sensor with a 10 mm socket clean off any debris and remove speed controller on top of air filter sensor with brake cleaner clear all carbon than reset and erase code. It work for me,. Good luck.
