White color name
Can anyone tell me the correct color name for the white with silver tone on the bottom rather than the goldish tone? When did the color change? I've also seen some totally white RX's--Coach edition? Nothing I've read online tells me the correct name for it. Thanks.

I believe it is called White Gold Crystal.
We just bought a 2003 RX300 a few days ago
with this colour (and yes, the bottom part is silver).
The funny part is that my dear wife really wanted this colour
when we were at the dealer. (i personally do not care for
it at all - i prefer green, paler green, or black) - but since
it is going to be her car i did not say anything.
Anyway, i drove the car back from the dealer yesterday
and now she is telling me that she does not like the colour
(too bright). She was asking whether the dealer
would take it back (i am sure of the answer - NOT!).
She was asking me whether we can repaint it. Ha!
Women!!!
Since the car is reputed to be very reliable - i told her
that she will have to live with that colour for the next
10 years (am i mean or what?) :0)

If you contact Lexus Corporate, they will find one for you in the color that you want. Chances are, you will not have to pay extra, or in the worse case, a few hundred or so.
But the replacement RX may be slightly used with a few hundred miles or so. After all, you're giving them a used RX that lost its "new" status so they will probobly offer a trade for something similar. If you get real lucky, you may get a trade for a brand new one.
Personally, I think the RX looks awesome in white and its easy to keep clean in comparison to darker colors.

The following are names for the various whites on the RX300 in Canada. The names may be different in the U.S. but the colour codes should be the same.
1999 - 2000 Golden Pearl (colour code 057)
2001 - 2003 Winter Gold (colour code 065)
2002 - 2003 Coach Edition - Crystal White (colour code 062)
* colour - Canadian spelling[I]

Interesting opinions on the White color. Our RX is also my wife's drive. She was totally set on black when we went looking. After she saw the White, she was hooked. I also think it's the best looking color for the RX. Ours is White Gold Crystal (Code 65). The new 330 would probably do well with some color changes and maybe a couple of mono paints instead of just the 2 tones.

My sister has a white 2000 with the gold lower plastic. They went to silver on the bottom with the whites when they went to clear tailights, chrome headlights, Nav, HID, etc. in 2001. I have a 2002 White Gold Crystal. My sister's 2000 white is the same as mine....I'm just not sure if they called it White Gold Crystal also.

We have the most of the options including the HID headlights but not the NAV. The lights are the best and brightest I've ever seen. Wife's still bugging me about the (lack of) NAV! The RX 300 is a VERY nice ride. It does need a little more agressive rubber in my opinion.

The '99 RX300 was called "Golden Pearl" and was more of a off-white cream tone and had the goldish cladding around the bottom. The '00 - '03 RX300 is more of a white and has the silverish cladding around the bottom. This is the only white available at this time. The "Coach Edition" was all one tone, from top to bottom and this was available only for a limited time last spring.

As far as I know, the 01-02-03 RX300's are "White Gold Crystal". The color code is 0065. And yes, they are two-tone, with the light grey lower panels, whereas the 2002 Coach Model was available in Graphit Grey Pearl, Burnished Gold Metallic, and Crystal White. They are also monotone finished, with the lower panels being the same color as the rest of the car, as Longo said..

White Lexus
Hello SteveC,
I am glad you guys like the white colour - i think my wife is coming
around to like it (i still don't care much about it - but who is asking me - i am only allowed to wash and wax the car).
Talking about washing/waxing the car, you are absolutely right.
The dirt does not show too much on the white car. You can
drive for 3 years without washing it. The one thing about the
colur white is that you cannot make it really shine. I use
Zenoe wax and boys, it makes my other cars shine (esp
the black one).
If you are really set on getting the NAV, you can get an
after-market system like Alpine. I have a manufacturer NAV system on our S430 and i hated it
(but i heard the Lexus one is 10x
easier to use). I generally just go to mapquest and have
the map printed out when i am going some place unfamiliar
(yes, i am a caveman).
I am jealous of your HID headlight. I wanted one but all the CA
dealerships we went to offer that in a NAV/HID/wood-steering-wheel package (about $3k). Since i did not want the NAV, we
did not get that package. I have looked into the after-market
HID kit and realize that they cost $600 a pop.
How long do they last anyway - hopefully a long time or it
is mega $ to replace them.
Talking about CA dealership, those Longo guys in southern CA
are pretty good. Very professional and good price (we did not
buy from them, though).

Invest in HIDS... u'll love em and they are really good!
i coudln't justify paying the 600.. but now i think of it, it was well worth it.
They will out last your car...
