run time problem
1999 RX300. Starts and runs fine until I hit about 3200-3500RPM, then it putters and looses power. I have cleaned the MAF, new air filter, checked/replace some small vacuum hoses but it didn't help. Don't think its an ignition problem since it runs okay up to 3500 RPM. Is there anything else a shade tree mechanic like myself can check? Help! and thanks.

Have you disconnected the battery for about 5 minutes to reset the computer? I don't know if that will do it or not but it's cheap (cost $0.00 and about 5 minutes of your time) and many times cures problems that otherwise have you chasing yoiur tail. Just like shutting down and rebooting your computer.

Tried the battery disconnect and cleaned the MAF again. Car runs great and I can run up to 5000-6000 rpm with no missing for the first 3-4 minutes. Then when the engine heats up, I can't go beyond 3200-3500 without misfiring and losing power. It runs and start so well, but after several minutes I can't rev up the engine without sputtering. Any more ideas? Thanks.
