Default Best High Performance Transmission Rebuild

I have a 2000 RX300, 140k with second transmission. I want to keep the car and tow a small trailer so I will need to get a decent tranny into it.

I know about IPT - are there any other options here in California for a solid transmission rebuild?

Anyone have experience with IPT?

thanks

I don't know of any in CA offhand, only other one besides IPT is Level 10 but they are in NJ.

AWD, the trailer is not heavy, under 1500 lbs loaded.

I have seen mixed reviews on both Level 10 and IPT and also probably don't need quite the level of rebuild they do . . .

1500lbs isn't much, I don't see a reason to upgrade the transmission.

Just drain and fill at a reasonable interval, with towing I'd recommend 7k miles, non-towing I say around 15k miles.

Well, this is the second transmission. I have never liked the way this one shifts, it feels very sloppy and loose, so I guess I don't trust it. Would rather not end up stranded somewhere with a camper and no transmission.

Could you explain what happened to your first transmission and whether or not the current one is a rebuild of the original, new, or junkyard unit?

The first transmission stopped working at 73k miles. Lexus replaced it under warranty, no questions asked.
