BTW, has anyone listened to a ML home audio system. I really hadn't heard of ML until Lexus came out with it. I thought Levinson was a linebacker for the Cleveland Browns in the 70s!

The 7-speaker 4-channel 175 watt Bose system in my TT sounds superior both quality and quantity-wise compared to the Premium system in my '01 RX, but a lot of that could be just the acoustic environment of the TT vs. the RX... Much more "solid" sound in the TT, plus not having any rattles at high bass levels helps.
That's always such an overlooked element of car audio - acoustic environment... it's crucial especially for sound quality... The RX premium system does a nicer job than most any stock system I've heard... This is one thing that Mark Levinson is KNOWN for, and I'm sure the LEV will DECIMATE ALL!

2 of the nicer audio systems I've had recently were the JBL in my '96 Lincoln Mark VIII and the Mach in my '98 Mercury Mountaineer. Very nice OEM systems. The system in our RX has better mids and highs but not quite as much bass response as the others.

I think the audio system in the RX is pretty good. My sister, whos drives the car, always has the Bass at -4 because she thinks at high volumes, the she loves listening to her music at, that it thumps too much.

I think she had it at like -4 Bass and treble and like -3 Mid but then turned the volume up high. I told her to just make it -1 on the latter and then 0 on mid which she reluctanly did. She's weird about it....

I wanted to get the Nakamichi when I got my '99, but I couldn't find one in our district. Now I'm curious, just how many of you out there have a Nakamichi on their RX300? Roll call?
Maybe Daddy-O should create a poll on this, or did he already do this one?

We have a lot of cars at our house. We also have a 2001 XK8 (Fathers), 2000 Civic (Sister), and a 2002 Mitsubishi Montero Sport (Our old Au-pair who still lives with us). Along with the 3 Lexi, that's 6 cars. It can get bad when friends come over and the maid is here too. It can be like 8-9 cars over at once!

The watts doesnt matter. I have the Nakamichi and drove the Factory RX300. Nakamichi is much clearer and less muffled. Try pumping it 3/4 the way up and you'll hear a big difference with the two. Even though it has 10 watts less, the clarity is so much nicer and the bass is clearer. The one thing I didn't like about Nakamichi is their urge of having clarity as priority so I had to add a subwoofer. Now there's 150 watts on top of 230 watts Nakamichi. I got 140 watts more than your Premium Lexus Sound System.

Speaking of the RX300''s sound system, here's one that underwent a complete overhaul... Thought it might be of interest...
