I see no one else posted any more detailed info about the LED install. ![Frown](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
I wonder if anyone else was able to successfully complete this mod?
Specifically, it'd be nice to know how easy it was to take off the center console, what kind of LEDs were used, and what was needed to replace the LEDs once inside.
It's an awesome modification, I just wish I had more information!

The bulbs were basically replaced with cell phone LED's. I am working on this mod as we speak, but it is a considerable time consuming and research process..... But mark my words, I will get it. I have already found a place that has the LED's. Now, I am just going to have to experiment. mrsypher said he would goodwill his old pioneer headunit with I will use to try this mod. I will hopefully have success and you can bet you will know when this happens.

So are the stock lights in the stereo and window switches etc. actually all green blubs, or are they white bulbs with green filters in front of them? I think it would be kinda cool to replace the green lighting with blue LEDs to match the Indigo Ink (blue) color of my RX300.
Also does each button on the stereo have it's own light source, or is it one or several bulbs with a "light pipe" for each button.

the led's are originally green colour without any filter, and remember guys, "USE SMALL WATTAGE SOLDER"!!!!!
if you use normal solder, it will melt the PCB
I'm using 18 watt solder.
meanwhile here's the latest mod to my car :P
enjoy :P

I'm doing the same white LED modification on my RX300. I got the SMT and 3mm white LEDs from an LED company in HongKong on ebay (about $40 total for 50 of each which is a bargain).
I got the window controls done (which looks way cool - even the wife had to admit it's a big improvement over the very dim old style green LEDs).
Now I'm stuck on how to remove the ***** on the "AUTO" and "MODE" controls.
Here is my post

Hope someone can help me.
Thanks

I'll try and take some pictures soon when I next have the controls out.
The LEDs are as follows:
Drivers side controls - 5 surface mount LEDs
Passenger side controls - 2 surface mount LEDs
Drivers side rear seat control - 1 3mm LED
Passenger side rear seat control - 1 3mm LED
The rear switches are fairly easy to do - just snip out the green 3mm LEDs and solder the white ones in place. The surface mount ones are VERY delicate and not an easy job.. but well worth it in the end (even the wfie agrees!)
My main problem now is how to take the face-plate of the radio off, which requires all 4 ***** on the radio to be removed to get to the LEDs underneath.
I'm also going to put white LEDs for the other inidcators such as gear idicator, "TRAC OFF", "ECT SNOW" etc. Those currently use small bulbs with green rubber filters on them.
