Ok I got it fixed it was the screen on the snorkel covered over in sludge and trash. T hanks again for all the help gave me the confidence to do the job

I think the bigger question is what is loaded up on the top end of the motor? Better get at least one valve cover off and see what it looks like under there.

I don't think they have to be adjusted unless they are making noise. Seems like most of these cars never need it. Honda's seem to need them every 100k or so, but they have a different set up.
