Whats the cost of an extended warranty ?
Hey guys,
I was wondering what the cost is for an extended warranty on the RX300 from Lexus and what is the deductible?
Any info would be great!
Thanks

My dealer quoted me $1500 to extend the Lexus warranty to 6yr/100k mi. This price was good right now for any FWD RX 300 under 36,000 miles.
The Lexus warranty must be purchased before 36,000 mi.
0 Deductible...it's a Lexus warranty.

Did you buy it? Has anyone bought one? I guess to me it seems unnecessary. Are there any known problems that frequently creep up that the warranty can hedge against? Im at 35100 miles. Anyone have any thoughts?
thanks

I didn't bite, as I just passed 15,000 miles. I had to kill time at the Lexus dealer while RX was serviced, and I was just curious about the warranty and its particulars.
But, you never know...

If you're not the original owner and question its history, or if you believe that something(s) will occur that will require $1500 of your money to repair, buy the warranty.
If you're the original owner or if there is no question regarding its care and maintenance, perhaps $1500 could best be spent elsewhere.
Buying the Lexus warranty is betting on some sort of failure in your vehicle within 6 years/100,000 miles.
I'll wait until I have 35,100 miles to decide.

Hey Guys
Well here's what happen. Bought the car used with 48k miles and bought the extended 100k miles and 5 years for $1500 and with a $200 ded. - got ripped. But the warranty company sent me a letter saying that the warranty is void because it was written on the wrong form.
So what should I do- jsut get the money back- Or have them redo it?
The RX runs great! But the "you never know" Syndrome can always creep up.

Take a look at Warranty Gold. I believe they offer CL members discount:
