Default Help with heater blower

Hi All,

This forum is great and has been a big help.

My heater - A/C blower quit. I have searched the forum for this issue and started working on the problem but I need some additional advice before I shell out the $ for a new control module.

I tested the voltage going from the control module to the blower and got a reading between 9 and 10 volts. The voltage changes very little if at all when turning the fan speed control ****.

I hooked the blower direct to the battery and it worked.

So is the control module bad? should I get some rotation from the blower at 9 volts?

Thanks
Tim

If you know the pin-outs, you can remove the controller and jump the +12v to the module to B+ of the motor. This would eliminate any wiring issue and fuse issue.

Voltmeter tests do not show the impact of current draw. A better way would be to put a +12v bulb of about 10watts for blower ckt to verify. You can even leave the blower in circuit and check voltage .,,, (it would be close to 0 ,,, I think)

I found an used module at a salvage yard for $65. I installed it and the blower now works fine.
