Default Nicks/Dents in Wooden Steering Wheel

I've have an '02 RX w/the wooden wheel. In the wintertime with my heavy jacket on, the seat belt is much closer to the steering wheel. I can't tell you how many times I've unbuckled my seatbeat, only to have the buckle fly around my coat while retracting and hitting the wooden wheel. I can't tell you how many dents and nicks I have in my wheel after only about 13 months. I'm 6'3" and 200 lbs, so it's not like I have this huge belly that's touching the wheel. It's aggravating. Has this happened to anyone else?

Default Yes! It's frustrating!

Yup! This has happened to me a couple of times. Once was when my watch hit the steering wheel. I cringe everytime I run my hands over the extremely minor (but still there) nick.

I take pains to cover the belt buckle with my hand when buckling up and point out and require recording in writing at the dealer that my wheel is perfect.

Will be interesting how long I can keep it this way, but one does have to work at it!
