Default Dented and repaired oil pan OK?

I had my timing belt/water pump replaced and after I left the shop the check engine light came on. I brought it right back and they checked it and found the problem was that they accidentally dented the oil pan. They apologized, removed the pan, fixed the dent, re-installed it and added engine oil. I drove it an hour with no return of the check engine. I know mistakes happen and I appreciated their honesty. My question for the forum is whether this an acceptable fix so long as the check engine light does not return or should I get a new oil pan?

Do you know what the code was? I find it hard to believe the ECU set a code because the oil pan was dented, but what do I know... lol

I don't know the code. But the mechanic indicated the dented pan caused an oil pressure issue and fixing the dent resolved it. I had no idea that a dented oil pan can cause this issue and that's my concern. I should have put that in the initial post.

In my eyes, if they broke it...they should replace it. Not some shoddy repair.

it would really depend where the dent is, if it it was located near the oil pickup and repaired, i would be more concerned about the pickup being cracked if it was not replaced in the process. It would act like a straw with a hole in it, and starve your engine of needed oil.
