Default Oppinions needed

I am a new person here. I would like your oppinion on which car I should get. My choices are a 2000 Lexus RX 300 with no navigation for 22,000, 2003 Acura MDX with no navigation for 35,000, 2003 Honda Accord with navigation for 28,000 or should I wait for the new Lexus RX 330 to come out. I need a vehicle that will handle well in snow, ice and rain. I will not be going of road and I only need room for a family of four. I don't need anything sporty, what I like is the luxury aspect of a car. I will not be towing anything either. Please any comments would be appreciated. The Lexus RX 300 has 50,000 miles and is AWD. The Honda Accord is new. The MDX is new.

Talking

Welcome! All those vehicles are certainly more than capable of fulfilling the needs that you describe. I don't have NAV and don't miss it, but many here on CL obviously do and will tell you that they'll no longer go around the block without it.

Compared to the MDX, the RX will be a little slower (is it AWD or FWD??) but has a more luxurious, finely finished interior and is quieter. The MDX stock handles a little better. Can't comment on the pricing of the others but the price for the RX is pretty good, unless the mileage is high. Both the SUVs will give you that "above the traffic" seating position compared to the Accord.

There'll no doubt be other posts comparing the merits of the various choices, but remember, it's gonna be your **** in the driver's seat. Among those choices, you ought to buy what you like, and like to drive, the best.

Default Nakamichi Sound System

Does the Nakamichi system have audio satellite reception capabilities? Or is satellite capability only available as an 'add-on?' I haven't seen or read anything that tells me that Lexus offers AM/FM/SATELLITE receivers either for new vehicles or replacement systems for older models. There certainly are not any after market products available.

Default Anotther thing

You should NOT be paying $28,000 for a Navigation Accord. You should be able to get it for invoice, which is just about $25,000, with a spoiler too. I was in the market for one when it first came out about last November, and the dealer I was working with was going to let me have it for invoice. So if you do decide to go Accord, make sure to get it to invoice. If you're going to spend $35,000 for an MDX, you can get a 2003 RX300 for about 35 as well, pretty well loaded. I also considered an RX in late December, sticker was just over 40, but the dealer came down to about 36 on that.

I think you should go with the MDX over the RX.

I put 52k mile on my RX and it still like new. I wash / wax / Lexus leather care it regularly. I garage it and never go off road. If you can find something like mine, it will be great because the body, the interior and the leather is going be like new. And $22k is closed to trade in value. But check CAREFULLY. Good luck.

Default Accord not in same category

If your looking for a good vehicle for a family a four, the RX should suit U well. You won't get the "Sport" of the Accord but it's room and space well out do the Accord. We pack it up w\ 2 Car seats, all the kid stuff. You can drop the seats and carry a load home @ home depot or Ikea and I have even used the Roof Rack once in a while. I find it a lot more family friendly than the Accord. The Base MDX for 35K will give U Alot more Room and Power, not as nice interior, Worse Gas Mileage and Resale value might suffer because it is not fully loaded.

I have a 2000 RX and I love it but the HID, Wood Steering wheel and VSC in the 2001+ have me reconsidering all the time. So if U can get a 2001 for about $1500 more than the 2000 w\ HID, wood steering wheel and VSC, I woulud consider that
