Default VSC / Engine check lights after work on car

Helo,

I read a lot of posts about the VSC / engine check lights which are lighting on the dash. But I have a particular question:

I changed the cam belt and the wheels, after that everything was ok. But after 4-5 miles the signs started to light. I disconnected the battery, solved the problem...but after 3 miles...the same.

What could this be???

Thnx in advance

Have the OBDII codes read.

Cam belt? Would that be the timing belt [main pulley, two cams, water pump]

Your could be off by a tooth or two. There may be some other issues as well, so a read of codes is a must.

Thnx. I went to the dealer and it was: P1346.

They said it could be a sensor problem or the timing isn't right...si I think we have to do the job over again :-((((

One of the most important thing about working on the vehicles is to double/tripple check your work. For timing belt:

first check:
Check your timing marks before releasing tensioner.
Check your timing marks after releasing your tensioner.
Crank the main pulley with hand (2 or 4 or 8 turns) and recheck the timing marks [Match marks on the belt will not match, but the cams and the main must match].

Now dont feel too bad as the tilt in the VVT can make timing belt little awkward. Remember to keep the slack on the tensioner side.
