RX300 Rear Wheel Bearing Replacement Seal
I am going crazy trying to get my new national wheel bearing seals to fit in the hub around the new bearing.
Does anybody have any suggestions? I've already smashed 2 of them trying to get it to squch in place. I am working on the rear inner seal. It just seems too big to fit.
Tried the freezer for an hour but didn't seem to make a difference.
If anybody has any supreme knowledge, it would make my day!!
Thanks,
Reggie

Do you have the right part for the right vehicle .. (AWD/FWD).
Service manual calls for a SST to set the seal [right socket and hammer would work]. It does recommend a press for the axle.
Right fit is the reason why I like staying OEM.

Yes I did have the right part. It is AWD in my case. I was finally able to get it in place but man it was a tight fit.
I used the bearing press kit that fit the diameter of the seal and tapped it with a hammer evenly. It went in nicely once it started!
Finished the job and now it is quiet again! Was amazing how loud that bearing really was after hearing it now without it. Now I have to figure out why the ABS light came on...

Abs sensor wires have to be protected and during assembly you have to make sure that as suspension moves, the wire can flex and do not get stressed or pinched. Also the spindle/axle have small gear like teeth have to be protected.
When I needed to replace the wheel bearing on another car, I took it to an axle shop and gave them the knuckle, new Bearing and seals. They used a press to disassemble and assemble.

There was no gear like I expected on the rear. I read about it a little and it said there is a band around the spindle that the sensor reads and if there is anything blocking it, it will error out. I am thinking there must have been some gunk blocking the sensor. The wire was never stressed as it had plenty of room to move around when the knuckle was all off.
I'll post back when I get it fixed and what the fix was.
Thanks for your advice Salim. I've read many posts you have made, all have been very helpful.

Look at this picture

You can see the band on the boot and then you see the knobby (gear like) band.
