I hope the RX protected the occupants and no one including the others got hurt. Seems like engine, drive and structural are not impacted.

Let us know what your plans are.

Thanks hyper and salim; yea Im ok thankfully. It may take another day or for any after effects like slight whiplash, etc to show up if it does but i dont think it will. And yes; Salim; it protected me very well it seems; and yea it doesnt look like any of the engine etc was impacted; but i wont know for sure until the body shop peels back the bumper and the pad behind it etc to see if there was any further damage. Fortunately i was the only one driving. This idiot decided "oh i think Im gonna hit someone today"(at least it sure seemed like that) and just as i was going north on a local rd; going through the intersection; WHAM!....his left front corner/end met my left/front end(corner). And that was where it ended until I got to the body shop several hours later FINALLY. As for the plans; well of course they are to get it repaired; even though we only bought the vehicle for like 7400 or something like that; so I kinda thought maybe they would have possibly totaled it out; but Im guessing the reason it probably wont be is because it was just that corner and not anything more.

I'm guessing total. My '01 was hit with less damage in '11 and it was totaled. Poor thing only had 76k on it. On the bright side the insurance company gave me enough to buy my 'beautiful 05 (with a little help)

Well carver; I hope you are wrong on that one because for the most part other than a few things that need to be "fixed"; I like my 300 and would hate to have them total it out just because of one corner. But if they do; then I will have to have the place i originally picked it up used from try and find me another one similar to mine but maybe newer if the insurance co will give me enough dough to get a newer one. But; in reality i hope they dont have to total it out because i like it. And to boot; it only has 112,000 on the clock which is nothing for a 14 year old car.(especially a lexus).

They suspected the front subframe was bent and that was the determining factor, when the estimate passed 10k that was it, totaled.

That car was perfect, 76k, new chrome wheels and tires (now on my '05), new headlights, fresh detail, great leather, I loved it and if it hadn't gotten hit I would be driving it to this day. Although I will say the '05 is a much better car

Different insurance companies assess accidents differently. I think the OPs car will be expensive to repair but is repairable.

Yea; i would love to pick up a used first-year 330 if the insurance co. were to give me enough to do that with because like you said carver; better fuel economy, etc. etc. but i dont think mine will give me enough to do that because the company i have is a "lower-on-the-pole" company so to speak. By that i mean their monthly premiums are way way less than most of the higher better know companies like progressive, etc.

Company definitely makes a difference the guy that hit my car had a major and they paid like a slot machine.

Funny story, I had the 300 for years and '09 I got bored and tried to buy an X3 and the guy offered me 6K, I didn't make the trade but would have taken 7. Couple years later the car gets totaled and they offered 14k for the settlement and let me keep my new chrome wheels and wide armrests. 14k was very strong even in ''11. I was too shocked to even ask for more!

I had to add 3k to get my '05 but it was well worth it.

Well; that was the end of my run with my 00 300!; insurance co totaled it out. Damage estimate surpassed the value of the vehicle.

That stinks!

Are you looking to get into another RX300 or some other vehicle?
