Default Hydroplaning less w/AWD?

I was wondering today if my AWD RX300 is less likely to hydroplane in heavy rains than a FWD RX300?

Nope, hydroplaning has everything to do with tires.

To add on to hyper's answer

Tires, weight of the vehicle, speed of the vehicle and amount of water (too much or too little, you would not hydroplane)

Before the onset of hydroplaning (when you have traction), AWD and FWD, tire tread can make the difference.

Thanks guys!! I do have relatively new Michelin tires and they have been performing well lately with our heavy rains in TN. I new VW Beetle hydroplaned right off the road in front of me yesterday.
