Excessive oil consumption

For the ingenious, maybe build a catch can in the return path and drain the oil back into the sump.

Crankcase pressure venting is maintained, it just vents through the front valve cover instead of the rear where it is sucking oil. You will need 5' of hose for this. Modify at your own risk. Yes it is still working. Installed at 161k miles. Currently at 177k miles. I'm very happy with the results. No significant oil consumption. 5w30 synthetic. Consumes about 1 quart in 5k miles, which is when its time for an oil change anyway.

Default just a suggestion

If rerouting the PCV, do consider the impact. Breather should be at the top, PCV should be above the max oil level [which we know is the issue]. Personally I would leave the setup as is and add a catch can and figure out a way to drain the collection into the sump
