Help! A/C issues
Ok guy's my dad's 2001 rx300 recently had the vvt solenoid issue with bad Misfires and a bunch of CEL codes well I got that issue fixed but now we have another problem...when he had the vvt issue's the a/c stopped working and after everything was fixed it still didn't work, upon further diagnosis I put the ac (non navigation) into test mode and got code 13 evaporator temperature sensor and 43 the air servo, I had just replaced that sensor 4 months ago, so I tried the one off of my Rx and the problem still follows, then I put a cheap freon gauge on my low side (I know i need a good set of manifold gauges) and the needle just flew to 150 psi and the needle was stopped by the little pin, anyways I was so shocked it was that high...any ideas could it be a bad pressure sensor or a relay? Also only one fan spins but when it get really hot both start to spin and i also have verified the compressor is bot engaging....its 97°F and climbing here in Texas and we need to get the ac working, thanks in advance!

I didnt see whether or not you checked this; but have you done the obvious and easy thing of checking the fuse(s)/relays either in the engine bay or behind the drivers side coin holder compartment?

Its very difficult to diagnois an a/c problem over the net. especially if you dont have at least some working knowledge of auto A/C systems. there could be many small checks and steps that you would have to do and then report your results before moving to the next step. very time consuming.

Thanks for the replys guys! The ac was working just fine it is charged as well, both my fans will come on sometimes but the compressor won't engage, I'll check the relay, how many amps is it? Thanks again it's just really hot and humid now and it's just really hot.

So what if its hot; its texas!; put on some grungy clothes; get out to the garage; and check to see if the relay is possibly blown. Also; if the compressor wont engage; then it could possibly be the compressor itself or again a fuse and or relay for the compressor itself. If you can get a hold of it I would suggest getting a hold of the repair manual as that should give ya a much better idea of what to check.
