Maybe a fuse? Check to see if one fuse is linked to these lights. If not, is it still under warranty?

Had a similar problem and discovered it was related to my driver's side door's latch would stick and therefore would not activate the interior lights, keyhole, doorlight, etc. - just like you stated. It was more of a hassle at night with the auto headlight function that since the latch stuck, the lights never went off automatically because the RX "thought" the door never opened nor closed.

Test this: open each door at a time and see if you get the red car door open (or something like that) indicator to come on on the console (i.e. where the speedo's at). All my door's turned on the door open indicator except my driver's side door. I suspect you might have that same issue on one of your doors.

Ended up taking back to dealer and they repaired the problem. Hope this helps!

Default kt, I would go with satxrx's response.

the door latch sticking seems pretty close to your description after looking at the wiring diagrams. It may be worth checking the fuse for the driver's door too. The schmatics say it is in the engine compartment, left side. fuses will be in a black plastic fuse box. Use caution as some contacts are live all the time. Look for a 20 AMP fuse (20A), labled FL (front left) Door Fuse, A2. The passenger's side fuse in inside behind the dash. Only one door should be the problem. Good Luck.
