Need help bad
Ok trying to do a rear brake job on 2001 RX 300. Well snapped off the lower, caliper mounting bracket bolt. What I need is the size and thread of the two bolts that hold the bracket to the spindle. Have new calipers, but cannot find a bolt that fits. Is it a tapered bolt hole I n the bracket, and that is why testing bolts only go in tread or so. Have to get new bolts, and have nothing for reference. All help is greatly appreciated.

Please be more descriptive in choosing thread title. It helps in searching and unfortunately low level mod can not edit it.
I would suggest you get the bolt from the dealer. Composition will be right and the bolt head shoulder will be proper for torquing it to spec. Yes it will cost you 6 more dollars but you will have the satisfaction that it would not rust or loosen due to improper torque.

You broke a bolt off, right?
Did you tap out the broken part? If not, you would only be able to get any bolt in as far as the broken part still inside.
Did you take the same bolt off the other bracket on the opposite side so that you can match up the broken bolt? Seems that would solve your problem of the correct size bolt.
Really do need more info from you.

M12 head with a 1.50 pitch if i recall, best to get a bolt from the dealer or parts yard.
If you don't have options, take another caliper bolt with you to hardware store and get a bare minimum grade of 9.8 or higher. It is not a tapered bolt
