Default Installing Avital 4103 remote start w/keyless entry

I have a 2000 RX300 front wheel drive. I do not have a factory master key and didn't want to pay Lexus to get a new one so I bought this after market key fob with remote start and keyless entry. I have some basic electrical knowledge and have taken most of the dash apart on other projects, but am not sure that I know what I am doing here. I found a couple of Youtube videos, but would appreciate any advice from all of you before I get started. I plan on working on this next weekend.
Thanks,
Fireguy

Please read up on

Engine imobilizer, You need a recognized/registered key in the vicinity of the ignition switch to allow generation o spark. [in absence of a registered key, the starter will engage but the engine would not run.]

Default Thanks

Salimshah – Thanks, I understand now what you meant by needing a key. That will be another $70 that I wasn't counting on.

Hyperfish – Thanks for the info.

You will need a master key to register another key. You can get an after market key for less than 70, but your bigger issue is processing a master key. You will be in home stretch if the current key you have is a master key.

I installed a different brand and found it all to be complex and frustrating to make it all work. I didnt keep the details on everything but you will find it challenging even if u have some electrical skills.

Well said Bobster999. When I stated home stretch it really is theoretically possible. There are so many details afterwards to work through.

I found the remote locks to be the hard part. Remote start part was fairly simple. However, i do enjoy having it though.
