Climate control and daytime running light

Climate control and daytime running light
Hello,
Got two questions (2003 RX300).
1. Is there a way to disable the daytime running light?
(i don't recall other Lexus drivers have this light on.)
2. Why does the AC light come on (and i assume that the AC is on) from time to time
when i am in a auto-climate mode eventhough the outside temp is in the 50's
and the inside temp is not that much higher (i set the auto temp to about 70).
very confused...
Thanks!
(i even read the manual but could not find anything relevant)

Once you turn the HVAC system to AUTO the a/c light should stay on. The system will cycle the compressor when needed. The compressor isn't only for cooling the air, but if it is real damp outside and you you need warm air, the compressor will bring in warm, dry air. That's the short of it.
As for the DRL's. All Lexus vehicles have them now, I don't know why people don't want them. Lexus began using DRL's on their vehicles in 1999. I guess if you don't want them you can find and pull the DRL fuse.
