Dent fix

Dent fix
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone might know how best to remove a dent that is just below my left rear brake light. There is no crease that I can see. It looks like something about 1 inch round pushed it in. It's right on the rounded part of the metal between the bumper cover and the light. The bumper cover took a pretty good hit too, but I got one that looks very good from a salvage yard. I just need to paint it to match and my, new to me, 02 RX300 and it will be looking pretty sweet.
Thanks!,

Welcome to CL.
Photos are a must when talking about any dents or paintwork.
Reminds me when I use to do body & paint. A person would call and ask how much it would cost to fix a "ding". Always was just a "small ding", "nothing much" they would say or a "Ballpark Price". I would tell them I must see it before I could give a price, no estimates over the phone.
999 times out of 1000 their "little ding" was a $500 to a $1000 dent.
Always baffled me how anyone would think that someone could quote a price for bodywork or paint work over the phone.

Looks like I was wrong about the crease. The normal crease where the lens starts has a little rust showing. That rust is my first concern. Then there is a slight almost egg shape depression just below.
Thanks guys!

If it was just the "egg" dent it might have popped out from just hitting it from the inside with a hand dolly and no painting.
But you have a crease on the lip with paint damage. This will take some hammer & Dolly work, a little grinding with a little bondo work it looks like. Then of course primer & paint.
Body shops would use a stud gun, then a slide hammer along with hitting the crease with a body hammer to get that dent out.
Yep, looking like a $500 plus dent.
