Changed rear valve cover gasket today @321,000 miles.
Hello Its been a while. Just thought I would share. Changed the rear valve cover gasket. And here are a few pictures of the valve train. I watched a few videos and read some stuff here.
I built a new car port and did not won't oil on the the new concrete, winter is coming, so I changed the gasket.

oh yea! I would say you have done really really well with your maintenance! valve-train looks like its in good shape!. Not too sure how mine looks cause I havent had to have the valve covers taken off for any reason(at least not as of yet) And whatever you are doing as far as maintenance and repairs i would say keep doing it!; especially considering u have 300,000+ miles on it and counting! well done! I only hope if i decide to keep mine til i get that kinda mileage on it; that it looks that clean at that mileage(mine is still a "baby"(lol) with only closing in on 141,000 miles

Nice~* :)
That looks great!...I just did my gaskets too (@270Kmi) along with knock sensors, wiring harness, upstream O2 sensors, pcv, coil packs, spark plugs, timing belt and waterpump. Both gaskets were leaking and even had they not been, it seemed like the perfect time to replace them with the miles on the vehicle, and while I had the dreaded air plenum removal accomplished (with tons of "greatly appreciated" advice from the unselfish veterans here).
Since I knew little about the previous maintenance record it was a pleasant surprise for me as well to see no evidence of sludge, and the plugs still looked great...not that much different than my brand new Denso's (all the anodes and electrodes were nice and white...not a trace of carbon or oil) This is my first Lexus, but won't be my last (I am already watching Craigslist for a sedan for my wife). These cars are awesome and this site and it's members is a godsend. Thanks for sharing~*
Kind Regards,
Russ (Jacklalanne)
