How to detach this cigarette lighter?

Default How to detach this cigarette lighter?

I can't for the life of me figure out how to detach this cigarette lighter. Anybody able to tell me how I can do detach this properly?

You have to remove things at the back to allow the center part to come out of the front. [wire connector + stub is the back, and front is the hole the lighter is plugged in].

Once you remove the things at the back, look at he splines ... you may heave to twist/turn the receptacle to set it free. If it is a tab then it needs to be pushed down [the plug in the rear has the tab].

If the above does not help and you cant figure it out, you may have to think of an alternative way to get to your objective ,,,, can you accomplish what you want without removing the plug?

I've tried to forcefully yank out from the cap of the pink+white/black wires but I'm afraid that any more forceful yanking will damage them. Maybe there's a way to open this cap or to remove the wires? Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this is the concept that you're suggesting salim, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it.

Yes the wire connector does come off. Check all sides for a release tab. I am going by intuition here.
