Unhappy New RX300 Oil Leaking Behind Top Eng.

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone have the same problem?

My brand new 2002 RX300 with 6000 miles on it. Only 6k miles...I just brought it to the private shop for inspection and tires rotation and other stuff, because Lexus dealer did not do its job to correct the problem. I will try the third time to correct the problem, if not the veh is returned with my full refund and all expenses. Lets see how lemon law works. They looked underneath behind the engine and there is oil leaking from the top portion of the engine. They said something was loose. I thought Lexus was supposed to be better then this. Leaking should not be an option for Lexus. I heard other made vehicles are leaking; but Lexus...is not acceptable, don't you all think? Especially, 6 thousand miles. I have all kind of problems with this vehicle. Seat cushion problem, uneven pads, causing a big dimple on one side of the seat; alignment, real bad, had lexus done twice didn't fix the problem. I am sorry to say but the service guy was an ars...giving me hard time, on the 5k oil change, I asked for japan filter and he pretended there was no such thing. I don't know how lexus has him working there if he really did not know anything. I read other complaint cases, one prius customer complained battery does not get charged. The dealer, it denied all the way until a lawsuit was initiated, then came the refund. They should have a better QC for luxury cars, or just call it 4Runner then why lexus and can't keep up with the reliability promise. I am talking about brand new lexus; if it is old they would say 'lack of maintenance', excuses, excuses.

Thanks

Angry Lexus Problems

We understand all vehicles have problems; but the Real Problem is, Are Lexus Dealers Willingly to Fix These Known Problems and Defect Problems on Their New Vehicles? These are the questions we all need the answers before purchasing the vehicle. Go With The Brand That the Dealers Are Willingly to take care of the problems!!!

I have almost 40K miles on my 99 RX. Went to Valvoline yesterday to get an oil change. They told me it was leaking. I went down it the pit and sure enough. So I drove right over to Lexus and had a meeting with the Service Manager. He said he was almost sure he knew what it was and would be happy to take care of it under the powertrain portion of the standard warranty. Iam scheduled to go in on Thursday. He said its an all day job and involves removal of the Transmission as well.

I will let you all know how it goes
