Sharing my Trans Pan Removal and Filter Replacement
Nearly 74,000 miles and 16 years old on my 99 RX and the pan was pristine. No chunks of metal only the obligatory gunk accumulated on the magnets. Of course, this car really doesn't have many miles on it but encouraging all the same.
One thing I noticed that the original filter was a screen type and the replacement was the paper type filter. Interesting in that when I did the same service on my RX330, the original filter was paper.

Sure do - I bought the car when it had 42,000 miles on it back in 2010, and immediately did a double drain and fill within 100 miles of each other. The fluid was rather discolored that first drain and fill but did not have that burnt smell to it. Ever since, drain and fills every 15k miles, and this was the first time the filter had ever been changed.
