I have an 01 RX300 with the original version 1 navigation DVD. Can I update to the version 13.1 or does it have to have at least 1 update with a version between 1 and 13 like I have heard. If it does need another in between update where do I find the older updates? All I can find is the 13.1.

More recent cars (~2006 on) don't require intermediate versions of the DVD map updates. However, you must make sure you have the correct "generation". Sounds like yours might be a Gen1 or Gen2 system. Check Craigslist or e-bay and ask the sellers.
